Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. ~ 1 Corinthians 15:58

     It’s been awhile…

Last fall, I was on fire. Six art shows in two months, increased sales, and I received an exhibition award. I also did a major overhaul on my studio. I was so grateful for the growth and opportunities, but I was also tired and near burn out by mid-November. As I slowed down to enjoy the holidays and recover from that busy season, my family began dealing with some medical issues. 2026 has required me to be more caregiver than artist and that’s okay, my loved ones are so worth it. One is nearly recovered and another still has a ways to go, but all is well. I am finally able to breathe and get back to the studio.

The time I spent away from the easel gave me time to reflect on what’s working , what could work better, and how to make that happen. It will take a while to implement it all, but the vision is there.

I have been mostly absent from social media, but I’m easing back into that. I have some finished paintings to share as I get them photographed. More work is on the easel, and more work is ready to begin. I am planning for my solo show for next year. My new studio arrangement is getting fine-tuned.  I had to pass up a few show opportunities for early this year, but there are more coming up that I plan to enter. I’m hoping that this fall will be even better than the last one, which is a tall order.

Life is good at throwing us curve balls, usually at the worst possible times. The key is to endure. I’ve been knocked down so many times in my life, but I’ve learned that there is true power in getting back up again. I will always get back to the easel and step into that sacred space where paint begins to tell a story.
